There are two types of people in this world: the wannabes and the ballers. The wannabes spend their days thinking about all the things they wish they had but don’t. The ballers are out there actually making it happen and going after what they desire. So, question is, which one are you?
The best part is that you have the power to choose which one you want to be. You hold the wheel that steers your fate. You can either sit back and watch your life pass by amidst a dirty couch and an old bag of Fritos, or you can consciously make a decision within yourself to live out the exact kind of life that you have always wanted and go out there and explore the world and create adventures and climb as high as you can on the ladder to your incredible success. The beauty of it all is that you have infinite possibilities available to you when you actively begin constructing your future happiness. You can say to yourself that from this day forth, you forever choose to be a baller and start immediately acting as such. If you want to be someone in life, you have to act like you’ve already made it there–you have to act like the very person you hope to one day become. So, if you’re like Travie McCoy and desperately want to be a billionaire on the cover of *RBGMagazine* with Oprah and the Queen, you have to envision yourself in that role. You have to feel it. Even to the tiniest details like the clothes you would be wearing.
As my hero, the legendary martial arts master Bruce Lee once said:
“Knowing is not enough; you must apply. Willing is not enough; you must do.”
So, if you find yourself at a point in life where you’re not really sure which direction your life is going in and why your days are just passing you aimlessly, not getting you a step closer to your ideal world? Well, have no fear, there’s still ample hope! YOUR responsibility here is to actively make a habit out of making life decisions that are right versus those that are easy, and let’s face it, that in itself isn’t so easy. But if you start with this first step, it will really help catapult you further into the kind of life you’ve always dreamed for yourself (a mansion, bling, cruises, etc). Chances are that you already know in your heart what you really want, the only thing to do now is start making the right choices that will ultimately lead you there. And you’re definitely smart enough to know what the right choices are…come on, you’re reading RBGMagazine :p
A great way to begin this process of converting all your wishes into their physical counterparts and begin living your life as a baller is by first writing down all the things that you know will make you happy and allow you to live a fulfilling life. For example, some of mine are my family’s well-being and staying active in sports. So I know that if my family is healthy and I am back to sports and working out, I will be happy. If learning to play guitar is something that you believe will bring you enjoyment and enhance your creativity, then by all means write that down as one of your goals. These are all goals that you will eventually achieve if you keep them at the forefront of your mind on a daily basis. It’s really helpful to take a few minutes out of every day to just decompress and think–and envision once again what you are working towards. You should even put pictures up of items you’d like to own one day and put them in places where they are easily visible so that you can be reminded of the fact that your hard work will soon pay off…and that you will replace the pictures with the real things in no time.
Constantly telling yourself that you are fearless and that you WILL accomplish all the goals you’ve written out for yourself is also a powerful method of reinforcement and motivation. Called “auto-suggestion”, it’s essentially the idea that if you continuously repeat certain statements to yourself such as “I am happy” and “I am intelligent”, you can basically trick your subconscious mind into truly believing that you are whatever you think you are. If you think passively, such as: “I want to be rich”, your subconscious mind may go in a bit of a panic mode because it believes that something is missing, since you’re yearning for it instead of just having it. Or if you think: “I need to lose weight”, your mind may go in defense mode and slow down your metabolism for protection against potential lack of food intake (if you go on a diet for instance). But if you train yourself to habitually repeat these small simple tasks and trick yourself into believing that you already ARE successful and that you already HAVE attained all your biggest goals, then you will carry yourself with a confidence and poise like you’ve never imagined before. Life’s opportunities will become exciting and endless to you. You will suddenly inhibit a kind of fire within yourself that you always knew was there but never quite felt to this degree. You will finally understand that you hold the power to build yourself an extraordinary and magnificent life in your own two hands, and you will begin carving out the very path that will lead you to that place. Just maintain a positive attitude no matter what and always take pride in your work ethic. And remember, attaining baller status is not defined by materialistic objects or the number of digits in your bank account. Being a baller starts the moment you acknowledge your incredible potential and solidifies as you become more unstoppable and driven in every aspect of life.
