Hit The Lights – This Is A Stick Up, Don’t Make It A Murder

If you are a fan of pop-punk, look no further. Hit The Light’s newest release has every component of a good pop-punk album, including those catchy lines that will have you repeating them throughout the day. However, it may be a good idea to lock yourself alone in your room during the first day of listening to this album or else you’ll be repeating, “You’re going to need a body bag, I’ll break bones you didn’t know you had” to your teacher, parent or crossing guard. The fun doesn’t stop there though; I can honestly say every song on this album has an uplifting pop-punk sound similar to Fall Out Boy’s, “From Under the Cork Tree.” But don’t expect a Fall Out Boy replica band, or anything otherwise associated with Fall Out Boy; Hit The Lights is determined to gain its own independence.

Lead singer Colin Ross pop-punk voice will definitely cheer you up reminding you that you don’t need her to be happy, all you need is something to sing along to. Don’t get the wrong idea though; this album can be listened to in any mood. Whether you are happy because it’s a beautiful spring day, or upset because you’re demon lover broke your heart, this album is the perfect antidote. Featuring catchy hooks, incredible vocals, sing-along choruses and the work of genius producer Matt Squire, this album is definitely worth the money, the time, and the health of your throat, you will sing your heart out to this album.
