Chicago’s own Lupe Fiasco has released the first single off of his upcoming fourth studio album, Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album. There was some controversy surrounding the single when it was first released due to the beat mimicking a classic hip-hop song [They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)] featuring Pete Rock and CL Smooth. Producer on the remake, B-Sidet says that Lupe wanted a live sax to record the same loop, and he did it. He further states he’s not really proud of that, but knows he will impress people in the future. Pete Rock came out and disapproved of Lupe using that hook, but both quickly buried the hatchet and are set to be on a song together soon. Food & Liquor 2 is said to be released later this year.
