California be on the lookout for MC Dome also known as Michael Padilla. He is an upcoming rap artist that is putting Phoenix, Arizona on the map in the music scene. Not only is he rising in Arizona but he is hitting California with the same persistence. Dome traveled from Arizona to California last week and performed in Venice Beach in efforts to raise funds for music programs in California.
MC Dome is a Phoenix, Arizona native who has a large fan base built by his continuous involvement with the community. Some may even label him a hometown community hero. He is getting recognition like this because he is making a positive impact on society by interacting with youth at events that promote social change. His unique free styling ability, loyal fans, and support from local artists are increasing his visibility within the entertainment industry. In addition Dome’s peers happen to be the music artists that stay on a major grind in Arizona. This has strengthened Dome’s efforts because not only do these artists support each other but they work together and move as a force. All of these factors are propelling MC Dome to advance to the next level in his musical career.
MC Dome’s music background stems from an unusual place that most artists rarely mention or page homage to MC Dome developed his passion for music through rhythm skating. Dome enjoyed the challenge of rhythm skating and riding with the beat which then carried over into freestyle sessions with his friends in a garage. MC Dome delivers a style of flows that are reminiscent of hip hop’s early years. RBG: What does your stage name mean? Where did it come from?
MC Dome: It’s who I am. I got it from high school all my boys use to call me “Dome” because I got a big head!
RBG: How long have you been performing in the music industry?
MC Dome: Years now, 38 shows straight. I opened up for legends like DMX,Slick Rick, Rappin 4 Tay, Raz Kaz, UGK Family, Lighter Shade of Brown.
RBG: What do you bring to your performances?
MC Dome: Heart, Soul and an elevated mind because every show I do is a freestyle performance.
RBG: Why do you think listeners would want to check out your music and shows?
MC Dome: Because I set myself apart from every other artist very versatile in music and live performances.
RBG: Are you bilingual? If so do you have songs in other languages?
MC Dome: No, but I wish I was.
RBG: Do you have an album coming out?
MC Dome: Not planning on it right now. I’M just working on my next mix tape. When I get my record deal then I’ll give them the honors to release MC Dome’s first album.
RBG: What’s your biggest obstacle or trial in music?
MC Dome: Maintaining all categories on a high competitive level, staying fresh, and new with the industry. I’m not going to lie its tough wearing all of the hats of an artist when you don’t have a management team to deal with everything. That comes along with making it. But being the strong man that my parents have raised me to be I have learned to adapt to any
situation that arises.
RBG: Where was your last California performance located at? When is your next California performance?
MC Dome: My last performance was in Venice Beach. My next one will be a toy drive at the L.A. Convention Center on December 10, 2011. I will be performing for the youth.
