Help Raise Awareness for the Chicago Academy of Music

If you’re in Chicago tomorrow don’t pass up the opportunity to help raise awareness for music education for the children of Chicago’s South and West side, including after school programs and more. Dr. Yamma Brown, daughter of James Brown will be there to extend her knowledge and support concerning the effort to help the children. Yamma has been a pharmacist for the last 12 years and is currently working on projects to honor her father by working on a tribute album, biopic, stage play, and book, filled with the details any James Brown fan would love  to hear. Yamma has a passion to produce music as well, so the tribute album should definitely be a treat. Diagnosed in 2008 with Lupus, Yamma has dedicated plenty of time to raise awareness on this disease which affects 5 million Americans, and countless others whom are related to those who are directly affected. Yamma stresses the importance of exercise and healthy eating, and is happy to hear about the first medication to treat Lupus to be released in 50 years. This progression matched with the positive energy and drive Yamma has displayed is going to do wonders for the Children of Chicago who deserve their music education. The programs offered include weekly musical instruction, daily after-school group music classes, and specialized year-round workshops.
