Rick Ross's 'Teflon Don' Barely Drops

Two years ago the hilarious “Officer Ricky” cartoons were released by 50 Cent via his website, thisis50.com. In addition to this, a few songs, and a filmed encounter with Ross’s baby’s mama also were released. This was hilarious as everyone found out the truth about Rick Ross- he stole his name from the legendary cocaine runner, Freeway Ricky Ross in order to make a name for himself, and before he became a rapper, he was appointed a prison guard in December 1995 at a salary of $22,913.54.

Ross found himself in a lot more trouble. The real Ricky Ross had filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Ross in a California Federal Court. Jay-Z has been called up to testify. Freeway tried to block ‘Teflon Don,’ Ross’s latest album from dropping. Unfortunately, Freeway lost.

‘Teflon Don’ not only angering Freeway. Famed mobster John Gotti’s grandson, Carmine Agnello has also spoken on the ex-correctional officer’s usage of his grandfather’s nicknamed, earned later in life by the press, not self-proclaimed.

“My grandfather paid his dues for that nickname…That was my grandfather’s life…He should have asked for permission,” he illustrated. “A standup, respectable guy would come and ask ‘If I could use the nickname.’ I think he’s a great artist, but you can’t just start calling yourself that to sell records …He wants to go for that whole image, but hey, be yourself…Only in America can you go from being a corrections officer to calling yourself Teflon Don.”

Unfortunately, the real Rick Ross and Carmine Agnello didn’t win this battle, ‘Teflon Don’ released last tuesday.
