Russian Daredevils Climb World’s Second Tallest Building

Vadim Makhorov and Vitaly Raskalov climbed to the top of the 650-meter (over 2130 feet) tall Shanghai Tower, filmed the feat and put it on YouTube. The pair climbed a further 18 meters up a crane to sit on top of its roof. The building should be done next year, and looks incredibly futuristic.

It’s kinda cool that they were able to do this so well (looks like they’ve definitely had practice in the art of building-climbing) and that they haven’t gotten into any trouble over it. This has also given the tower the most publicity its ever had – exceeding expectations.

Recently, a teenager from New Jersey made headlines by climbing up the new World Trade Center, past sleeping guards and he is currently awaiting legal punishment. Whether a teenager exposing security flaws with no malicious intent – should be questioned and rewarded for strengthening the security of the building – is up for debate.
