Sound The Alarm

How old were you guys when the band first started, and what changes have been made since then?

Brian: we were 13 years old when we first started the band. It was just Cody, Colin, Rick and myself. We played mainly covers and only played at friends birthday parties. We met Joe the 1st day of Junior Year in High-school and things just took off from there.

What music or artists have influenced you guys?

Colin:Third Eye Blind, Alanis Morisette

Brian: Incubus, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses

Was it hard to find places to play in Pennsylvania?

Brian: There are actually a bunch of great places to play around our area. A lot of them are underground all age venues but those helped out a lot especially when we were starting out. It gave you a place to play, but also a place to perfect your craft before you move onto the bigger venues.

Can you explain what the song “Suffocating to stay alive” is about?

Colin: I wrote it about the amount of anticipation that we were going through. Everything happened fast, but the big picture has taken a while. As far as getting signed, getting music writen and recorded, and releasing an album, its a long process, even longer when you want it as bad as we have. So every moment spent in question of where we’ll be next is like suffocating yourself out of anxiety just to get this thing rolling. Its sort of a look at the not-so-glamarous side of it all.

What is in your CD player right now?

Colin: Third Eye Blind “Out of the Vein”

Brian: Foo Fighters “There is Nothing Left to Lose”

Where is your favorite place to play?

Colin: Crocodile Rock Cafe (Allentown PA)

Any plans for the future?

Brian: As of now, we plan to continue writing for our debut full length. We should be going into the studio to record it in the Spring and we’re all very excited. From then on we’re gonna be doing some crazy touring, so please check us out if we come to your area.

Any last words?

Brian: We have our self-released EP available on iTunes or anywhere else digital music is sold. so check that out, you won’t regret it. www.myspace.com/soundthealarmmusic
