Steve McQueen: True Luminary

How have people forgotten about this man and his legacy? It seems he is never brought up anymore, its sad, like a piece of art, completely forgotten in an underground vault. Steve McQueen was the man of his era. Not only did he perform most of the driving stunts in the best driving movie ever, Bullit, but he also demanded that he became the most paid actor in Hollywood, and rightly so. His movie resume is stacked. His dedication to welfare was unprecedented. He would request free stuff from the movie studios whenever he did a movie, they thought he was being greedy. McQueen’s close friends later revealed he donated all of the things they gave him to a boys reformatory school, the same one he attended when he was younger.

It is said that he smoked marijuana every day, was an avid drinker, and a cigarette lover. His DUI in 1972 proves the middle point, the rest are spoken from his closest friends. The man was a loner, a woman lover, a rival of those stuck with their chest out. He knew he deserved the best, and he was destined to get it.

One Manson murdered his close friends, most notably Sharon Tate, he carried a handgun on him all the time in public. He was not afraid.

Steve McQueen was a fearless man who will never be forgotten and always emulated. Here’s to you Steve, although you left us 30 years ago, your legacy will always be remembered.
