Our country’s politicians & political elite seem to be gripped in a heated debate over the topic of who did what to members of al Qaeda in the wake of the September 11th Terrorist attacks. Frankly, it’s not my greatest concern these days, and I don’t think I’m alone in this view. The United States economy is driving hard towards the edge of a cliff, and I have yet to see a solid attempt to stimulate “real” jobs for our country.
What do I mean when I say real jobs? I’m talking about the jobs that create the core of our economy; Manufacturing, Construction, Technology, Finance, etc…all the jobs that create tax revenue to pay for all our social programs that politicians love to grow. Where is the help from our elected leaders? Field Mice in San Francisco Bay got more out of the Stimulus Bill then anyone I know. Sure Green Jobs, Universal Healthcare, and Lynching the Bush Administration make great press, but it’s not solving any of our current problems.
While 600,000+ jobs were lost again this month the president and Congress have continued their offensive on the Bush Administration. My friends and family who have lost their jobs could care less about some water being splashed on a terrorist’s face that was itching to wipe out an American city. (Frankly you should have splashed some more water on them when you had the chance) Last I checked no one can hold a stick to my country in the morality category, no matter what we have done, so let’s move on to what really matters. OUR people.
Politicians need to wake up and focus on stimulating real growth in our country. Encourage small businesses to start growing. Give tax breaks to companies that keep jobs here. Without some real help it’s going to be another 600,000 jobs next month, and on and on. Government has become the problem, not the solution, and anyone who wants proof need look no further than the politicians themselves!
