Justice – †

Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay are the two Frenchmen who comprise Justice, the newest electronica sensation that has gained international stardom in about 3 months (thank the internet). Their single D.A.N.C.E. hit the web at the beginning of this summer and both the song and music video spread from blog to blog showcasing this amazing song and music video to about everyone who spends time surfing the web for music.

D.A.N.C.E. at first sounds somewhat odd (or even annoying) because the only vocals are sung by a group of children (sounding extremely similar to the Jackson 5). But, in no time, you’ll be chanting along with them “Do the D.A.N.C.E., stick to the B.E.A.T.” While nodding your head to the funky bass and synthesizer that make this song a sure summer hit. The music video only compliments the song featuring animated t-shirts with extremely fashionable graphic designs.

Don’t worry; D.A.N.C.E. isn’t the only good song on the album. Cross should be played from the beginning to the end, its an album that can be listened to all the way through without skipping over any tracks; a feeling that certainly cannot be replaced. This is due for many reasons, mainly because the diversity on the album, no tracks sound alike, yet all of them seem to flow really well on Cross. Its fair to say that Cross is nothing like a typical electronica album, its not cluttered with loops and has no redundant buildups, but it is more of a creative expose packed with various influences that is ever-changing from beginning to end.
