Chicago-based Madina Lake got its start in 2005 by recording a demo and touring relentlessly. Vocalist Nathan Leone and bassist Mathew Leone are twin brothers who first got their faces on television by appearing on a special twin episode on Fear Factor, the money made from munching on cow guts ended up paying for their demo. After Madina Lake toured with Paramore in the U.K. they started getting exposure in Europe, which led to exposure in the U.S.A., a follow-up E.P. in 2006, and now their first full-length album.
From Them, Through Us, To You includes stories about a fictional town called Madina Lake, a town where life is very similar to how it was in the 1950’s; however features many aspects that seem to be quite out of the ordinary. The music however is filled with tons of crunching guitar hooks accompanied by Leone’s energetic speech and drum fills that escalate the music into an epic masterpiece.
Hopefully, Fall Out Boy’s success will pave the way for more bands in the alternative genre to claim their space on the billboard charts, Madina Lake deserves to have one of their singles off this album to hit the charts sometime soon, remember the name, Madina Lake.
