Gilbert, Arizona natives, Scary Kids Scaring Kids have finally released their highly anticipated sophomore self-titled album. With their previous release producing a solid fan base, as well as a unique synth-rock sound, the boys from Arizona had their work cut out for them. Their newest release had to be a positive progression in order for them to move out of the opening band position at their shows.
Scary Kids Scaring Kids is an album that will surely graduate the band from the opening act in small clubs to something bigger once the buzz catches on. There is much more variety on this album then the previous album, there are songs that can set in moods of relaxation, reflection, and all out rock and roll.
Releasing a much more diverse album will hopefully attract a much bigger audience instead of a specific crowd that only appreciates their specific synth-driven hardcore that they perfected on their previous release.
Now, a little bit older and much more mature, a solid progression can definitely be heard. Guitar solos are much more technical, songs are much more complex, and every other aspect you can think of is much more refined.
So, with what sounds like a much more mature band, Scary Kids Scaring Kids seems like they are ready to headline their own tour in promotion of their album. Scary Kids Scaring Kids is an album with variety, complexity and lyrics that will keep you endured from beginning to end.
