Life Is Not A Waiting Room is a raw, fist-pumping, sing-aloud album that retains Senses Fail’s roots in pop punk/screamo and furthers their progression into hardcore, bone-crushing riffs with songs like Wolves At The Door, Four Years, and Lungs Like Gallows. This CD is the perfect blend of all the best aspects of their previous albums. Fans of the older Senses Fail album Let It Enfold You, will be pleased with their return to more catchy drum hooks, and pop punk guitar melodies in songs like Hair Of The Dog, Map The Streets, and Blackout. Vocally and lyrically this is also the strongest album yet. Singer Buddy Nielsen, tears his heart out in the opening song, Fireworks At Dawn and the single Family Tradition. Though Buddy seems as troubled as ever about who he is and why he keeps running, the personal confessions of being lost and alone touch a deeper level of intimacy and insight on this album. While most bands usually break-up or just start sucking after their first two or three albums, Senses Fail makes it clear why they are still such a prominent influence in the progression of “scene” rock.
